Interestingly enough, my '79 has glass windows on the bridge and not lexan. Not sure if all of them were changed back to that at some point or my previous owner just changed them back himself. All of my side windows are also glass.

sorry, i should have made that a little clearer. the lexan windows for the command brige side windows were changed over to 'safety glass' just shortly after the retrofit from sheppherd. since the windows were a new addition, they wanted to work the kinks out first then incorporate safety glass into the design from late 1972 onward. remember, the orginal design had an isenglass/canvas side curtain for those windows. i will never forget the dealer in edgewater, md (taylor hatteras/trojan) calling my dad at home and yelling at him because he went over their heads instead of through them. dad said, ''yeah? well i already spoke to the plant foreman and the engineers at sheppherd and they said they would do it. so, unless you want to tank this deal hear and now, you will hang up.''. needless to say, they backed down immediately.

morning tim, you're up early. i'm on call until friday, and i want to be awake, fed and ready to roll if the crew desk calls (which they have been known to do at this early hour) besides, i like to know maccabee has been taken care of before i leave if i have to. he's always up with me as he is my post it note. anyway, dad was really insistant with the dealer, including the price, considering the special features we had added. the original selling price, in 1972 dollars, without genset/ac/canvas was 36K. with all we had added save for the generator and a/c, the boat was delivered from the factory to us (including the shipping cradle) in the spring of 1972 for 32,500. (dad is a very savy negotiator!)

does your tri cabin have the centerline berth in the aft stateroom or the twins? just curious.
