Carb (5.7)350 4 barrel 260 -270 hp very common for years Crusaders now is rated at 315hp a 6.0 rated at 375hp . 8.1 big block 475hp

Carbed 350 in question is most likely a 260 hp version.

Carbed 350 in question is most likely a 260 hp version.
My carbed Crusaders are factory 270...so if the original poster is saying he has 350 cid engines, it could very well be 300 or so hp. Especially if they're the uh, black PCM rebuilds.

Suppose it could be anything really. 350 Chevy is kinda like fiberglass boat. Ya kno?
Still need way more data to answer the original question. I'm guessing it weighs in the 5500 - 6500 range. 15 inch wheel?? (I dunno thats a wild guess) Direct drive??? Reduction???

The factory MerCruiser 350 MAG MPI was only 300hp.
New Mercruiser Inboards: 5.7(350) is 300 HP. 6.2L is 320HP, and 8.2L (502) is 375HP.

Anyway - 24 is my guess ... my 26 Chaparal with a 370HP 454 cruises very efficiently at that speed. and does over 50mph @ WOT.
I have a 5.7 Captains Choice Crusader in my F-26, it is rated at 330hp. It's been a great engine. I can do 23kts at 3500 rpm, max cruise is 3800rpm. WOT 4800-5200. 24kts could happen

OK OK - surprised to see the uprated 330HP on a 5.7, but its definitely the rated HP.
Paul - I hear you on the I/O versus IB, but I'm still sticking with 24knots for an Inboard 25' Center Console (a bit lighter than an F-26) with 270hp, high around 28-30 would be my guess.

I owned one back in the early 80's with a 318 Chrysler. I could get about 16 to 18 knots @3000/3100 RPM's, not fast boats
This boat was built on the same hull as the 25" Cabin.

I cruise at 2800rpm in my 78 F32 and see 16kts. My fuel burn is 16gph combined. This gives me about 1 ktmile / gal.

Ok, brand new dual engine big boater here. learning a lot from you guys. The boat I bought had the original chrysler 318's replaced with 2 ford 351 cleveland cobra's. Boat tops out at about 31 on the gauge.
First question, what is a good cruising speed for this boat and about what should the rpm's register?
Second, what would a good prop size be for this boat?
Third, and last for now, I've got a weird trim tab "switch" when I move it, I don't really see a lot of difference in the trim like I would in my previous ski boat. How can verify the trim is actually working?
