89 mid cabin gremlins

after about one hour harbor cruise 1000rpm or less
port engine stalls shows maybe 8v at dash
emergency power engaged but not held
engine starts all is well

currently all checks out
new Victron shunt
no loose wires, voltages seem correct (charger,alternator, at rest)

batteries are agm 3 years old

I'm thinking alternator, intermittent problem
somehow malfunctions and sucks all the power?
